About
Director / WriterWith over two decades of experience in the industry, I’ve worked across a broad spectrum of genres — from hard-hitting drama to sharp comedy and vibrant children's television. What unites all of my work is a deep-rooted passion for exploring stories grounded in the human condition.I’m driven by the challenge of bringing evocative, emotionally honest characters to life — the kind that resonate with audiences and linger long after the credits roll. Collaboration is at the heart of my process. Whether it’s with writers, actors, producers or crew, I thrive on the shared effort to craft compelling narratives, build authentic worlds, and shape performances that are both memorable and meaningful. Most recently, I directed eps 4-6 on the BBC’s BAFTA wining Blue Lights series 2 and I have returned to lead direct on Season 3.
Brief History
My directing journey began seven years ago with Forbearance — a self-penned, character-driven short film exploring the impact of Alzheimer’s on a father-son relationship, told through a shifting timeline. That project sparked a new creative path for me and led to representation with Independent, under the guidance of Alec Drysdale. My television debut came shortly after, with CBBC’s Almost Never — an ambitious teen comedy-drama where I quickly became lead director across three series, eventually earning a writing credit in my final season.Between directing seasons of Almost Never, I wrote and directed my second short film, Steak a
comic teaser that aimed to raise awareness about the growing homelessness crisis in Manchester. It follows two rough sleepers in a quest for a steak dinner.
My pursuit of more adult-focused storytelling — my own creative “steak supper” — led me to second unit work on several high-profile dramas including The Tower (ITV), World on Fire (BBC), and COBRA (Sky). I served as full-time second unit director on season one of Blue Lights (BBC), which resulted in being offered block two of season two — a project that represents a culmination of my storytelling sensibilities: rich in character, grounded in drama, and laced with humour. This season went on to win the RTS (Northern Ireland), Broadcast award and the BAFTA for best, 'Drama Series'.Alongside directing, I continue to write and self-produce original work. My writing credits include two episodes of children’s television, and I currently have a slate of original ideas in development, including TV comedy and drama pilots, as well as feature-length concepts.Check out my showreels and short films above — and if you’d like to chat about a project, collaboration, or just connect, please get in touch.
